My passion lies at the intersection of us human beings and the spaces we inhabit. I am endlessly fascinated by the way architecture shapes our perceptions, behaviors, and identities. With a deep curiosity and commitment to detail, and a constant drive for experimentation, I have been exploring the intricate relationship between spatial modalities, human perception, and consciousness. As both an architect and university professor, I am committed to expanding my understanding of these concepts and, in turn, applying them to create environments that inspire and elevate the human spirit.
My passion for aesthetics, patterns, geometry, the mathematics and human concepts inherent in both nature and design began at a young age. This profound interest ultimately inspired me to pursue a Master’s and Ph.D. in Architecture at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), where I focused on architectural theory, design methodologies, and the experimentation with various media. Further I had the opportunity to study and conduct research at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-La Villette. These formative years shaped my approach to architecture—one that seeks to develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between space, perception, and social context.
A significant portion of my research explores the phenomenon of visuality and its relationship to spatial concepts, particularly in the context of the modernist era. I am particularly interested in transparency, new urban structures, and the shifting boundaries between inside and outside spaces. These changing interfaces hold profound implications for both social life and the development of human environments, offering insight into the way we process and interact with space. Visual perception and the experience of space, as fundamental aspects of the mind, are central to my work.
Interdisciplinary approaches to design are where my interests truly converge. I have a particular fascination with the dynamic relationship between film and architecture—two disciplines that intersect in fascinating ways, often overlapping with concepts from poetry, image theory, virtual realities, and the manipulation of space. This relationship fuels much of my teaching and research, inviting students and colleagues alike to explore architecture through a wide lens, unbounded by traditional constraints.
A central aspect of my approach to teaching architecture lies in recognizing that design demands a unique mode of engagement, one that thrives on the fusion of exploration, intuition, and creativity, all while grounded in a solid foundation of theory and practice. I aim to cultivate an environment where students and designers are encouraged to challenge pre-existing notions, challenge established ideas, and venture into the unknown.
Over the years, I have developed teaching methods that are both reflective and experimental, guiding designers through the complex process of architectural design. My approach centers around nurturing curiosity, fostering a willingness to take intellectual and creative risks and explore new avenues of thought and expression.
Architectural education, is best when engaged with as a dynamic and transformative force—one that encourages ongoing inquiry, creativity, and development.
Over the course of my practice,, I have had the privilege of engaging in research and design projects across diverse global contexts, including Paris, Tehran, Dubai, and Vienna. These experiences have enriched my understanding of architecture’s dynamic role in shaping the built environment and influencing societal interactions. My work is a fusion of academic exploration, practical experience, and an ongoing curiosity about the many ways that space influences human existence. I continuously seek new ideas and novel approaches to understanding the complex and multifaceted nature of space, perception, and consciousness.
I invite you to explore my work, with the hope that it will inspire new ideas and ignite your imagination, as we continue to explore the profound connections between human beings and the spaces we create.
Combining academic insight, practical experience, and a broad research interest, my goal is to constantly explore novel ideas on the diverse concepts of space and their intricate influence on human existence.
I invite you to take a look at my work, and hopefully you will find inspiration and fuel your imagination.
